Part I: Lesson
Major Scales is the first lesson in my 7 part Music Theory For Guitar course and is the most viewed lesson on my Patreon. In this lesson, we dissect the Major Scale formula and explore just how incredibly important this basic formula is as the basis for more complex music theory concepts. Follow along with the lesson and homework section with by downloading the PDF companion worksheet. Once you’ve completed this lesson, move on the the practice section below.
Part II: Guided Practice
Once you’ve completed the lesson and homework section, it’s time to move on to the guided practice section. In this video, I will guide you through a C Major Scale practice exercise that I’ve created for this course. Once you’re comfortable with the exercise, you can move on to the play-along practice section and work your way through the various BPM versions of the exercise. Find a BPM that’s comfortable for you, revisit every few days, and when you’re comfortable with the BPM you’ve chosen, try moving on to the next fastest one.
