This page has all the info you need to get started.
If you’re ready to jump in immediately, I recommend choosing a guided Lesson Path and going from there:
Navigating My Patreon
Treat the Patreon like a road map; simply choose an area of interest and hang out there for a while!
Whether it’s songwriting, soloing, recording, or anything else, just be sure to have fun! Follow your interests, and enjoy learning how to make music on your guitar. Most importantly, TAKE YOUR TIME; the lessons and courses on my Patreon are not designed to be binged. Revisit a lesson as many times as needed until you’re comfortable enough to move on.
About the Patreon Home Page
(Patreon.com and iOS/Android apps)
Note: The main feed on the Patreon Home Page will always show the latest posts and updates in chronological order. For that reason, I recommend utilizing the Collections Tab, choosing a guided Lesson Path to follow, or browsing the Lesson Archive for lessons and courses organized by topic.
I’m constantly working to make the Patreon platform easier to navigate for my students. If you’re still feeling confused about where to start, I highly recommend choosing a guided Lesson Path and going from there (more on that below).
About Lesson Paths
My guided Lesson Paths are essentially curated lesson plans with a focus on:
Essentials: These lessons are the foundation of all soloing, songwriting, jamming, and just general musicianship.
Music Writing: These lessons cover the basics of writing music, from melody making and strumming patterns, to basic recording and intermediate music theory concepts.
Soloing: This is where you’ll learn all about the CAGED system and how to apply it to your soloing and melody writing.
I recommend choosing a path and sticking with it from start to finish. Even if you already feel familiar with some of the topics covered in a guided Lesson Path, refreshers are ALWAYS helpful and many of my courses are designed to be watched in sequential order.
About my Lesson Archive
My complete collection of lessons can be found on my ‘Patreon Lesson Archive,’ located on my website (not to be confused with your personal Patreon Home found on your phone app or desktop browser).
The Patreon Lesson Archive I’ve designed is separate from the Patreon website and lives on my website. It is a searchable archive of every lesson I’ve posted on Patreon, organized by category, designed to make it easier to navigate all of my lessons.
All lessons featured in the Lesson Archive link to their corresponding Patreon post and are simply meant to be easier to navigate.
About the Community Forum
Every Patron who joins my community will be automatically signed up for my community its forum. The community forum is a separate space from Patreon where members can:
Start discussions about various topics
Upload homework assignments (with visuals and audio)
Ask questions, and engage in general guitar/music theory discussions with other members
